Manage Wireless Costs and Network Connectivity
The Tensing Communication component handles all communication between the field workers and the back office. This component ensures that mobile applications are always available as users move between networks. Not only can a network priority sequence be created, our communication software also permits constraints on the amount and type of information being sent over each of these networks. For example, if a user is in coverage for a Wireless LAN, it will be used; however, if connectivity is not available, the network will switch automatically to a wide area wireless connection such as GPRS or UMTS.

Choosing the Best Options for Your Operations
The benefit of enterprise mobility is being able to access and update critical information no matter where work may take your employees. However, because wireless networks are not ubiquitous, and network failures can occur, end users at times need to work offline. Working offline refers to accessing data that has been uploaded and stored on the device, and sending updates at a later time. Working offline and only uploading information at specific intervals also helps keep airtime costs down. Following are a list of communication methods supported by Tensing to provide your organization with the best solution:

  • Wireless LAN
  • Wireless WAN
  • GPRS
  • GSM
  • UMTS
  • RAM Mobitex
  • Satellite
