Mobile GIS | Web GIS | Gateway

The Tensing Mobile GIS Suite takes mapping data out of the GIS department and into the hands of users easily and affordably.  Our simple user interface and robust functionality meet any mapping needs whether in the office or out.  The Tensing Mobile GIS Suite integrates seamlessly with back office, mobile workflow, dispatch, and scheduling solutions for a complete mobile solution, helping organizations optimize their operations.  The suite consists of Tensing Mobile GIS, Tensing Web GIS, and Tensing Gateway.

Tensing Mobile GIS
Tensing Mobile GIS Screen Tensing Mobile GIS allows easy and fast access to corporate GIS data in the field.  Mobile workers can view GIS data on mobile devices such as PDAs, laptops, tablet PCs as if they are in the office at a desktop workstation.  With Tensing Mobile GIS, organizations are in a position to improve customer service and worker productivity.  Mobile workers will have the mapping and facilities data they need at their finger tips.

Tensing Mobile GIS has a robust functionality to meet the needs of any organization with a mobile workforce that requires GIS data in the field.  Pan, zoom, pen gestures, drag and drop tool bars, globalization, raster support, object control, log in authentication, and  gazetteer are just a few of the standard functions in Tensing Mobile GIS.

In addition to the standard functions, Tensing Mobile GIS has extended features as well.  The extended features further enhance Tensing Mobile GIS as a complete mobile mapping solution.  These extended features include:

Trace
The Trace extension allows the user to trace by distance or by start and end point.  Users can trace fibers, networks, pipes, and more to improve repair and maintenance in the field.

Microsoft MapPoint
Microsoft MapPoint can be added to Tensing Mobile GIS to route mobile workers from job to job improving worker efficiency.

GPS
The GPS extension allows users with a GPS enabled device to map coordinates in the field.  Users can gather data and add locations of assets into their GIS based on the coordinates, resulting in more accurate data.

Redline
The Redline extension allows users to quickly draw and make notations on the map.  This eliminates the need for users to make notes on paper that could be lost or damaged.  These changes can then be distributed to other users automatically when the mobile device is connected to the network.

The open architecture of Tensing Mobile GIS facilitates integration with mobile workflow, office automation, and other solutions to incorporate GIS data into business processes.  The integration of GIS data not only improves worker efficiency, but also results in cost reductions.  Field design, vegetation management, staking, gas leak detection, data update, and meter reading are just a few examples in which Tensing Mobile GIS can be used.

Tensing Web GIS
Tensing Web GIS is a low cost solution for the view, query, and edit of data through the intra/internet.  Easy to install and maintain, Tensing Web GIS is the ideal solution for an organization with a large amount of users that need access to corporate GIS data, but do not need the complicated functionalities of a corporate GIS seat.  Tensing Web GIS easily integrates with back office systems to form a complete solution

Based on industry standard technology Tensing Web GIS presents data in a simple manner without the complexities of a full blown GIS deployment. It is a scalable and flexible solution, implemented with direct access to the corporate GIS database and with direct access to the applications on these databases. Tensing Web GIS has been developed using innovative techniques to minimize the bandwidth required for both in the office and out.

Tensing Gateway
Tensing Gateway is the communications application between Tensing Mobile GIS and the corporate GIS.  Tensing Gateway is fast and effective in extracting data out of the corporate GIS for display in Tensing Mobile GIS.  Tensing Gateway allows for a full extract or partial extract (user definable) and supports incremental updates, giving mobile workers the most up-to-date GIS data possible.  Additionally Tensing Gateway allows users to take changes made in Tensing Mobile GIS back into the corporate GIS.
