Corné Brünink

My name is Corné. I was born in Dedemsvaart in 1992 and have been living in Utrecht for some time now. I have worked at Tensing as a GIS consultant since April 2017. 

Study background

While studying Social Geography & Spatial Planning in Utrecht, I discovered my love for GIS. I further specialized in this during the master’s in Geographical Information Management and Applications (GIMA) program. With GIS it is possible to find a connection between all kinds of information; I also like to make connections outside GIS. For example, with fellow students, I founded NODE, the first student organization of GIMA.

I also have experience with project-based work. For example, during my studies, I worked at a spatial consultancy where I, as a GIS project employee, applied my knowledge to infrastructure and living-environment projects. During my master’s program, I did an internship at the Ministry of Infrastructure & Environment, where I was involved with innovative techniques such as 3D visualizations.

Leisure

In my spare time, I am active on the student rugby team in Utrecht. Rugby is a sport that gives me a lot of energy. The beauty of it is that rugby is a team sport where every player is equally important to achieve a good team result. Only by working well together is it possible to win. In addition to rugby, I also like to travel, mainly to hike and take in the natural beauty of the outdoors.
