Since March 2017 I have been working as a GIS consultant at Tensing. In this role I like to support customers in the field of geo-processing and functional business information management.
Working with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools such as FME is the best part of GIS for me. With this you can not only convert data, but also check and correct it, in order to quickly improve the data quality within an organization.
Both during the bachelor's degree in Geodesy/Geo-informatics and the master's in Geo-Information Science, the emphasis for me was on geo-processing. I was allowed to apply this during internships at the Province of Utrecht, Fugro, NAM and Grontmij. In 2014 I had the opportunity to help ARCADIS with the construction of the BGT. Our GIS team tried to build the BGT smarter and faster, with FME playing an increasingly important role. Since 2015 I have made geo-processing tools with Modelbuilder at Waterschap Vallei and Veluwe for checking and creating layer data in waterways. In addition to working with ETL tools, good collaboration with colleagues gives me a huge boost. Creating a solution together with the client that delivers a beautiful and usable result is what I strive for.
I have a personal passion for motorcycling and salsa dancing. Moving together as one, whether with a motorcycle or with a dance partner, provides intense enjoyment.
I really enjoy working at Tensing because it offers me the opportunity to quickly gain more experience with geo-processing on both the ArcGIS and the FME platforms. In addition, I have the feeling that I am one with the rest of the team; together we share great enthusiasm for creating beautiful GIS solutions.
