Municipality of Breda

The municipality of Breda aims to be a CO-2 neutral city by 2044. Therefore, one of the municipality's focus issues is to increase the amount of vegetation in public spaces and on private properties. 

The challenge
Aerial photos allow the municipality to observe the condition of vegetation and compare it with other years. But because there is no universal vegetation index value and there are colour differences in the aerial photos, it is difficult to draw conclusions from them. Breda Municipality asked Tensing to help with these challenges and develop a viewer where all stakeholders can view the results and draw conclusions from them. 



The Solution
The solution is a viewer that makes it easy to share results with all stakeholders. The viewer is used to assess the progress of green space development in the municipality on an annual basis and identify areas where vegetation can be improved. In addition, stakeholders use the viewer to assess whether known vegetation areas are accurately identified using the developed methodology.
