VertiGIS at Pidpa

Pidpa is a Belgian water company and they are responsible for supplying drinking water to 1.3 million people in the province of Antwerp. Pidpa also manages a large part of the sewerage network in a large part of this province.

The need

Pidpa uses the Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 to make geographic information system (GIS) data accessible to 400 internal and 3,000 external users. In addition, Geocortex Essentials Workflow and Reporting is used to streamline processes and create reports. Geocortex products are no longer updated within Pidpa's GIS platform. New developments are only rolled out in VertiGIS Studio. The desire is therefore to phase out Geocortex Essentials and replace it with VertiGIS Studio technology.

The challenge

Geocortex and VertiGIS Studio use different technologies, making it impossible to perform a 1-to-1 migration. This requires knowledge of both technologies. As Tensing has extensive knowledge of network management in water companies, we can help Pidpa implement the new workflows.

The result

The migration to VertiGIS Studio will be successfully implemented in early 2024. The Development, Test, Appreciation and Production (OTAP) method is applied to test during the migration process whether existing functionalities are maintained. During this project, existing workflows will also be 'made smarter'.
