Luc van Dijk

Young Professional

Hi, I'm Luc! I joined Tensing in January 2024 as Young Professional.

Career
Before I started here, I studied Earth Sciences (specifically Physical Geography) and specialized in natural hazards, remote sensing and GIS. During my studies, I took a gap year in which I worked as a Geo-ICT specialist at a land surveying company. Here, I discovered the powerful combination of GIS and FME. Thus, once I graduated, I knew exactly where to go: Tensing! And here we are...

Spare time
I live in Utrecht, a city which I am very fond of. However, the activities that I love doing most in life require things we do not have in the Netherlands: mountains. You see, nothing makes me happier than powering up a mountain, enjoying the view and then blasting back down on a mountain bike, a snowboard or even just my own two feet.

Why Tensing?
What attracts me towards Tensing is its forerunner position in the field of GIS and more importantly, the company culture. Tensing is a Great Place to Work and it shows. Personal development is highly supported through training and coaching, and teamwork is essential. With everyone's collective knowledge and skills in ArcGIS and FME, any spatial data challenge can be conquered.

The biggest growth can only be found outside your comfort zone.
