Marieke Buuts

My name is Marieke. I started as Young Professional at Tensing since April 2024.

Career
Throughout my Bachelor's and Master's studies in Biology, I always enjoyed learning more about ecological interactions, the environment, and sustainability. Working with and analyzing complex spatial ecological datasets sparked my interest to learn more about various GIS technologies. Therefore, I chose to pursue a Master's degree in Geo-Information Science, a decision that further fueled my enthusiasm for addressing complex issues regarding spatial datasets.

Spare time
I grew up in a small town in Noord-Brabant. Later, I moved to Nijmegen for my studies and have since made it my home, still living here together with my partner. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, cycling on a spinning bike, and caring for my many houseplants.

Why Tensing?
As part of my studies, I had the opportunity to perform an internship at Sweco. During this internship, I started working with FME, which got me excited to further explore the opportunities with this platform. Tensing's Young Professional program offers me the opportunity to explore both the field of consultancy and to enhance my skills as an FME and ArcGIS professional.
