Nicolet van Aalst

Hi, I am Nicolet van Aalst and have been working at Tensing since 1 September 2023, as a Young Professional.

Career
I studied Applied Biology at HAS green academy. During the programme, I was introduced to GIS through courses, assignments and projects. I soon realised that I really enjoyed working with GIS. I therefore seized every opportunity to work with it. Besides GIS, I also followed a minor in creative programming during my studies. Here, I learned a lot about the programming languages C and SQL, among others.

Spare time
I really enjoy travelling and camping, discovering more and more of the world. I prefer to spend my holidays hiking in nature and mountains as much as possible. When I am not on holiday, I also like to walk in Dutch nature and try to go for a walk every day. By hiking, I can clear my head for a while and then get back to work with full energy and new ideas. Besides hiking, I also love to read, especially fiction, and am always up for a board game.

Why Tensing?
I first chose Tensing because I wanted to do something with GIS. What I also really like about Tensing is that you decide for yourself what you want to develop/specialise in.
