Lydia Kotoula

My name is Lydia Kotoula, and I have been working at Tensing since October 2018 as a GIS consultant. I am from Athens, Greece, and have been living in the Netherlands since 2016.

Studies

My bachelor’s area of study was "Surveying Engineering" at the National and Technical University of Athens. I specialize in geodesy and cartography, although I have taken a different direction in my thesis: 3D modeling and visualization. After graduating, I decided that I wanted to expand and combine the knowledge I have gained with programming, and to be aware of the latest technologies. This was the reason to do the master's in Geomatics at TU Delft. This master’s deals with everything related to geo-information. It therefore provides a wide range of knowledge and opportunities that help me improve my technical skills.

Hobbies

I like to spend my spare time with many things. In recent years, I have started running, and now that is part of my daily routine. What really relaxes me is handicrafts. I prefer to decorate my house with things I make myself instead of things I buy. I find more value in handmade items and they create a warmer environment. It is a creative way to fill your time while you work with your hands and it can positively influence your mood.

Why Tensing?I chose to work at Tensing because it gives me the opportunity to work on different projects. In this way I can gain knowledge about the field in which I am interested. In addition, it is possible to follow training courses to develop my personal skills and knowledge. At the same time, it offers the possibility to combine the software and the new technologies to find the best solution to solve client problems.
