FME Flow Hosted (until recently known as FME Cloud) runs data integration scripts built in FME Form. Flow Hosted is designed to run recurring processes automatically. For example, every 24 hours. To get the most out of the capabilities of FME software, an FME Flow licence is absolutely essential. Unlike FME Flow, you don't need your own servers for this, but the data used is stored in the cloud.

Why choose FME Flow Hosted?

Developing GIS data integrations is what you do in FME Form. You use Flow Hosted to then execute these processes. This is done on the basis of a planning tool. For example, you can choose to only synchronise the data needed for a certain process at night. Want to start automating your Form processes right away? Then request a licence below!

For whom is FME Flow Hosted suitable?

FME Flow is widely used by organisations with tasks in outdoor space and/or asset management, such as governments and utility companies.

Flow Hosted is a software-as-a-service solution. For organisations with a preference for cloud-based solutions, Flow Hosted is the best choice within FME's offering. Choosing Flow Hosted offers the well-known advantages of cloud: you don't have to consider hardware requirements, you don't need your own servers and you can quickly and easily up- (or down-) grade your cloud capacity.

What do you use FME Flow Hosted for?

You use FME Flow Hosted to automate recurring data integration processes. With FME Form, you design scripts based on standard functionalities. Many of your FME scripts need to be run daily. Flow Hosted lets you schedule when the scripts will run.

How many processes can you automate with FME Flow Hosted?

The number of scripts you can run at once depends on the number of engines you purchase with your licence. One engine can run one process at a time. You can choose to prioritise processes, so your critical processes always get priority. From practice, we know that you need at least two engines, so you can run two processes at the same time. This is particularly important when running real-time data processes where up-to-the-minute updated data is needed.

What is the difference between FME Flow Hosted, Flow and Form?

FME Form forms the basis for your FME configuration. That is the tool in which you build workspaces. You always need at least one Form licence.

FME Flow Hosted and Flow both execute the FME scripts created in Form. The difference between the two tools is the chosen storage form. With Flow Hosted, data storage takes place in the cloud, which is why Flow Hosted is mainly used by organisations that work a lot with Saas solutions. You install Flow on your own PC and all data used in FME is stored on your own server.
